GVR has a collection of ex-NZR wagons - some of which are used for maintenance and mechanical support purposes. These include a variety of flat wagons, box wagons, YC ballast wagons, and a ballast plough van. A number of wagons are stored on behalf of the Rail Heritage Trust.
